CHRISTOPHER
AGE: 10
SEX: Male
RACE: Caucasian
|
|
Christopher is a handsome young man with
light brown hair and brown eyes. He is a healthy, happy go lucky
boy with a mischievous smile and twinkle in his eye. Christopher
is very intelligent and catches on quickly. He can be a very kind,
caring, and sweet child. Christopher is very outgoing,
cooperative, inquisitive, and adaptable. One of his passions is
the computer. He also enjoys playing outdoors, playing sports,
swimming, reading, and putting puzzles together. Christopher loves
to help around the house and is always willing to help with any
family project. He has some boundary issues and likes to interrupt
like most children.
Chris is currently in the third grade and is doing very well
academically. He receives services through an Individual Education
Plan for social skills and speech. Christopher has made great
improvements in developing age appropriate social skills and works
hard to maintain the skills he has obtained.
Chris wants a loving, committed family since he has lots of love
and hugs to share with a family that he knows will be there for
him forever. He does best with structure, consistency, patience,
unconditional love, and lots of one on one attention. Christopher
would benefit from having nurturing parents who will provide him
with new experiences, a stimulating environment, and opportunities
for fun. The best family environment for Chris would be as an only
child or with siblings much older.
Christopher has a primary diagnosis of Reactive Attachment
Disorder. He is currently on medications for asthma, allergies,
and thyroid problems.

CHEYENNE
AGE: 15
SEX: Female
RACE: Native American Heritage
|
Cheyenne is a Beautiful, Intelligent, and Unique, young woman who
some day is hoping to become a Mortician-yes a Mortician.
Cheyenne is a lovely 15-year-old young woman of Native American
heritage. She has beautiful brown eyes and hair. She has a
winning smile and a sense of humor that makes one laugh and guess
at the same time. Cheyenne is a freshman in high school and is
point guard on the girl's basketball team. Basketball is her
favorite sport but she likes football too. When asked recently
where the best place to live would be, she replied that she would
like to live in North Carolina. When asked why she chose North
Carolina her reply was, "The Tar Heels Football Team".
Cheyenne's favorite colors are red and green, and she loves
animals, especially dogs. Currently, she cares for her foster
family's dog. Cheyenne's favorite time of the year is spring
because of the rain. "I love the rain," she says.
Cheyenne struggles with some challenges with her academics.
Cheyenne does well socially and enjoys being around other people,
both at school and through her Lutheran church. She likes the
social interactions at church and spending time with her friends
going to the football and basketball games, and working out.
Why Cheyenne needs your help: Cheyenne was placed in foster care
due to abuse and neglect issues. She needs a family in which there
is a structured, consistent lifestyle and supervision with a
family who is willing to provide strong nurturing without
overwhelming her. Cheyenne'S dream is to have "a FAMILY THAT will
always be there for me"
If you would like to welcome this Loving and Caring young lady,
who would prefer to wear blue jeans over dresses, into your home,
Please contact your adoption worker for more information.

TRAVIS
Yes, he has beautiful red hair. Yes, he has a great sense of
humor. Yes, he is fun to be around. Yes, he cannot wait to be
adopted. Travis wants nothing more than to hear that a family
wants to provide him with a permanent home.
Travis is eleven years old and currently lives in a PATH foster
home. Travis has excelled over the last year in this home. His
foster parents report that he is doing so well and is more than
ready to be adopted.
Travis thoroughly enjoys being outdoors and loves visiting one of
his brothers on the farm. Travis also loves to spend time with his
foster family and their extended family. When Travis is adopted,
he hopes to be able to stay close to his two brothers who live in
ND. Travis always looks forward to spending time with his
brothers.
Travis has been in foster care for over four years. Travis does
desire to have a mom and dad in his adoptive home. Travis has
grown attached to his current foster family who has talked to him
about having a "grandparent" role with his adoptive family. Travis
would like to keep in contact with them also.
Through the care of his psychiatric and updated evaluations,
Travis has been able to decrease his medications and maintain a
healthy and balanced lifestyle with the assistance of his foster
parents. Travis is currently taking medications to assist him with
his emotional and behavioral challenges. It would benefit Travis
to live in a community where he could obtain the appropriate care
to meet his needs in school and his emotional and behavioral
needs.
Travis is currently in the 5th grade at a local school and is on
an Individual Education Plan to assist him with developmental
delays. Travis is receiving average to above average grades in his
classes, with the appropriate modifications to meet his needs.
Travis enjoys school and seeing his friends there.
Travis is excited about being adopted and wishes to have a family
that he knows will be there for him for ever. Travis is a
wonderful boy who has a desire to be loved by a family he can call
his own. For more information on Travis, please contact your
adoption worker.
