SHEILA M. BROMMEL, PhD, LISW

The REACH Project
Sheila Brommel has more than 25
years of direct practice and management experience in the child
welfare field, specializing in foster care and adoption. Until
August of 2006, she was the REACH Project Director. She currently
serves as a consultant to the Project.
Sheila started her career with PATH (Professional Association of Treatment
Homes) in 1994. Prior to serving as the REACH Project Director,
she was the Director of Quality Outcomes for PATH, where she
managed an agency-wide quality improvement system and
accreditation activities for 28 offices in four states. She also
held direct practice and management positions in social work for
the Pierce County Social Service Board in
Rugby, N.D. and the North Dakota
Department of Human Services in Fargo, N.D.
A peer reviewer for the Council on Accreditation for Children and
Family Services (COA), Sheila has a unique opportunity to observe
and evaluate family services programs throughout the nation. These
connections offer valuable, diverse perspectives to her work.
Sheila completed her doctorate in Philosophy from the University of
Minnesota School of Social Work in August, 2006 and is an
Assistant Professor at the
University of St. Thomas School of Social Work in St. Paul.
