REACH FOR COLLABORATION

A principal goal of the REACH Project is to collaborate. To best provide rural adoptive parents the necessary resources, services, training and education, REACH is collaborating with private adoptive services, state, county and tribal governments, the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) and National Foster Parent Association (NFPA).

Through collaboration, we will:

  • Facilitate the creation of new support groups at the local level and strengthen existing ones;
  • Offer referrals to support groups and other community resources;
  • Connect with talking circles in American Indian communities; and
  • Establish mentor relationships for prospective adoptive families.

This outreach is critical for waiting children – especially in rural areas where adoption resources are scarce. By encouraging adoptions in these communities, we can find the right homes for more children with special needs and move them into permanent families.

Please contact us to find out how we can work together to provide better, more abundant services to rural areas - email project director Jan Hoppe at jhoppe@pathinc.org or call our toll-free number at 866-797-3224.
